Be Forgiving

A 4-frame self-acceptance webcomic strip featuring colorful heart characters. Upper Left: A pink heart character is sitting at a table, writing a note. There is a stack of notes in front of them. There is also an empty chair beside them. A red heart character is approaching them from behind. Text above the red heart reads: What are those? Text above the pink heart reads: Notes to my past self. Upper Right: The pink heart character has put their pen down and turned to look at the red heart character. The red heart is now standing directly behind the empty chair. Text above the red heart reads: Interesting…tell me more. Text above the pink heart reads: I’m working on forgiving myself. Lower Left: The red heart character is now seated beside the pink heart character. The pink heart slides a piece of paper towards the red heart. Text above the red heart reads: I should try that. Text above the pink heart reads: You can start now. Lower Right: The pink and red heart characters are both writing notes. There are now 2 stacks of notes in front of them.

Most of us are too hard on ourselves.

We take on all the problems of the world.

We accept responsibility for things out of our control.

We overload our to-do lists.

We’re inflexible with our self-imposed deadlines.

We pay less and less attention to our most basic needs.

We make ourselves earn rest and fun.

We ignore our small wins.

We fixate on mistakes and setbacks.

We’re so busy trying to prove critics/naysayers/hater/opps wrong that we stop treating ourselves with kindness.

We have to start being kinder to ourselves and more forgiving too.
